Opening with a twang, feel the bassy pulse of the Horse Lords in your pelvic floor. ‘Come, lay down, lay it all down,’ purrs flower child Melanie, and enter a psychedelic trance. These songs are all about finding each other, collaborations and heavenly unions – the merging of stars and celestial bodies. Legendary 80-year-old saxophonist Pharoah Sanders joins up with producer Floating Points and the London Symphony Orchestra for jazz-fusion magic. Erkin Koray mixes traditional Turkish folk and 60s rock. Then Bang! Zoom! Straight to the moon! William Winant and Alvin Curran perform a joyous cacophony of thirteen cowbells.
