A cat purring luxuriantly; a pattering glockenspiel. Are you sitting comfortably? Inhale deeply, and let’s dive into an excerpt of Alvin Curran’s fifty-one-minute long, meditative track. Originally released in 1978, the record has since had a reissue on the Australian label Black Truffle. Circling around our ear lobes, there are atmospheric field recordings, a toy piano, synthesizer oscillations and even exotic birdsong recorded at the London zoo. Mike Cooper’s ‘Tiki Modern”s jets off on a futuristic holiday, journeying to a psychedelic tropical retreat. There, under the shade of a neon-pink palm tree, Blank Banshee’s Andriod voice recants an oozily seductive mantra: “Let the good feeling stay with you. When you’re ready, open your eyes.”
