With a doctorate in surrealism, writer Vincent van Meenen isn’t afraid to explore the strange, the niche, the uncanny and the bizarre. Often deliberately putting himself in unusual situations, his writing is fuelled by personal experiences he escapes from through prose and poetry. His novel 0xBlixa (2023), for example, tells the tale of a crypto-investor-slash-internet-memelord trying to find meaning, informed by Vincent’s own stint as an undercover crypto-bro, during which he created an online alter-ego through which he immersed himself in niche internet cryptocurrency communities. Vincent lives a thousand lives and writes about each one, making his stories viscerally authentic. His most recent work, a poetry book called alle fonteinen (2025) explores the love and hate we feel for those who have left us.
