Hoping to draw up something that meanders beyond words and images, Romy Day Winkel delicately writes, conducts interviews and organises literary events by embedding her personal stories and experiences. Her work Romance Utopia (2021) combines writing, audio works and a digital archive to search for how to ‘save’ romance from being instrumentalised for boring or harmful purposes. Through her creative endeavours, Romy investigates how our everyday actions can be constrained to, yet simultaneously steer away from, romantic ruination.
