When muted tones of skin meet a neon blue crumpled sweater on the floor, photographer Vincent Ferrané is nearby. Depicting the tussled sheet and the fold of a neck with the same erotic tenderness, Vincent’s photographs appear soft to the touch, yet unravel popular representation of feminine beauty with lucidity. The sensuality of breastfeeding, the elbow of Jeanne Damas, or the intimacy of women artists’ studios, Vincent feels one’s way with care. We’re glad to have a special photograph of his wife asleep, taken during lockdown, on the cover of Extra Extra n°15.
