Circus born and raised Kira Nova uses a cross-section of various performance styles, that are intensely physical, to address taboos, toy with conventional ideas and bring her character studies to life. Although bound by her love for New York, the Lithuanian artist has claimed various spaces from the acclaimed Centre Pompidou in Paris to the immersive artistic settings of Amsterdam’s cultural initiative ‘If I Can’t Dance I Won’t be Part of Your Revolution’ and the notorious MOMA PS1 in New York, to house her visual performances and theatre productions that bear sassy and arousing titles, of which “Tongue PHD”, “Apricot Juice” and “SSSSSSSSSSSS (hiss it, don’t say it)” are just a few.
