Striving to formulate a future that does not yet exist, Daan Borrel writes and regularly appears on talk shows, podcasts, in festivals and other events to advocate for equality. With a particular interest in topics of sexuality, sensuality and intimacy, she seeks to understand her longings and desires deeper through her work. Consequently, Daan wrote her book Jaar van het nieuwe verhaal (2020) while navigating a breakup. She devoted herself to her menstrual cycle for a year in an attempt to comprehend the fluctuating feelings that come with heartbreak, independence and femininity.
