Aneta Bartos moved from Poland to Brooklyn at the age of sixteen. Finding her way in the English language, photography became her true way to communicate. Questioning the role of women’ gaze in art history, she dared to depict males’ most delicate vulnerability in the series on men masturbating. With a focus on voyeurism Aneta explores passion, fears and taboos. Fascinated by the classical elements of the past, Aneta creates most intimate atmospheres, recalling Rembrandts paintings.
